Mr. Adams has worked as a Staff Accountant, Internal Auditor, Assistant Finance Director and most recently as the Director of Finance for the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida throughout his career of 33 years.  Mr. Adams, in his position as Finance Director, has directed the issuance of general obligation, tax increment, CRA, water and sewer, parking, sanitation, special assessment, conduit, leasing and excise tax financings.  He has demonstrated leadership in financings such as the creation of a “special assessment investment loan” and his City being the first in Florida to sell bonds over the internet.  In addition to his debt financing work, he brings a unique perspective to financial advisory services drawing on his many years of experience in other areas of municipal finance including operating and capital budgeting, preparation of financial statements, treasury management, financial policies and financial controls.

Mr. Adams holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant.  Mr. Damon Adams will act as co-project manager, along with Mr. Craig Dunlap, for providing services to the City.

Mr. Adams is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He has also served on the Executive Board of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada and was a member of the Special Review Executive Committee for six years.  He held various positions of the Florida Government Finance Officers Association (including President), was named a Certified Government Finance Officer in 1997 and received the Association’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003.
